Below is a summary of how Cracking Media Ltd look after your Personal Data and Business Data.
Your Right to Be Informed
To help make things clearer we have updated our Data Collection and Online Security processes document.
This document can be viewed on our website HERE…
Your Right of Access & Correction
Our customers have always been able to contact us about changes to their business or personal details with a view to updating our records. We feel it is important that the data we hold is correct so as to provide a better service.
This is still the case so if you believe the details we have are incorrect and you wish to have them corrected, please contact us at: info@crackingmedia.com
Your Right to Erasure
If you want us to delete your personal details, please get in touch with us at the email address above and we will make sure your details are deleted within 30 days of the request being received.
Please be aware that products and services we supply must be cancelled in order for us to delete your information. Any active products or services still in place would require us to continue processing your personal data, so we will retain your information for as long as needed to fulfil the purpose for which the Personal Data is being held.
We will also be required to retain, by law, certain information for legitimate business purposes, such as VAT and accounting records.
Your Right to Restrict Processing
We use a ‘need to know’ access regime within our business, using passworded cloud accounts to control who can view a customer’s personal data. By doing this only the relevant people involved in a relationship with a customer can view their details.
Your Right to Opt In/Out of Marketing Contact
Though we rarely use direct email marketing we’ve always used an opt in process when collecting recipient’s email addresses (Subscribe or Unsubscribe). We have also always provided recipients with an unsubscribe option in all of our marketing emails, which automatically removes unsubscribed email addresses form our mail out lists. This will continue as before but be aware that if more than one email address has been subscribed, then each email address will need to be unsubscribed.
If you have opted in for marketing content, please be aware that we only use the data provided and the information we collect to communicate relevant marketing to you.
Please be assured, if we need to contact you either by email or telephone due to problems with your service or website that might affect your business, we always will.
Automated Processes
Like many modern businesses we use automated processes which helps us to stay efficient, however when it comes to making some key decisions that impact customers and their personal data, we always ask the customer to clarify any relevant data before making final decisions.
By doing this we hope ensure that everything works as expected whilst giving us a better chance of picking up on abnormal practices and concerns, such as those created by fraudulent activity.
Domain Names & the Public WHOIS
We are not a provider of domain names and we always recommend that the customer owns and is in control of their own domain names in their own domain registration account. So it is the responsibility of the domain name owner to check whether their domain ownership details are in the public domain or if domain registration privacy is in place.
We are aware that not all customers feel happy to make DNS or Nameserver changes and would prefer that we buy and manage their domain name. These domains will be listed with Cracking Media Ltd as the owner as per the requirements of owning a domain name, so no customer data is listed.
